BIG 60 is a
‘lifestyle installation’ by a White Space that mixes up an explosive brew of
fashion, art, music and lifestyle events over the course of 60 days. In
partnership with White Space the Video Art Network will be hosting the Lagos International
Video Art Festival running from 12th December 2013- 31st January
2014
The purpose of the festival concerns the presentation,
promotion and development of new media within the context of contemporary art
practices in Nigerian specifically, but also globally. The need for such a
project can be especially felt within Nigeria, wherein familiar art practices
such as painting and sculpture tend to dominate the art scene. Because of this,
the Lagos International Video Art Festival 2013 will provide new and
alternative possibilities for local artists and cultural producers–in addition
to functioning as a meeting point for emerging and established media artists
from all over the world.
Featuring work from: Anna Linder, Daniel Steegmann Mangrané , Christina Gangos,
Debora Elgeholm, Aditi Kulkarni, Amol Patil, Baptist
Coelho, Chinmoyi Patel, Monali Meher, Paramita Das, Prabhakar Pachpute, Sabrina
Osbrone, Uma Ray, Vaibhav Shah, Jude Anogwih, Emeka Ogboh and more.
The programme is being organised and curated by the Video Art Network, Lagos, Unbound Studio,
India and Where Dreams Crossed,
Sweden.
Unbound
Studio is a newly formed multi-disciplinary platform located in

Where Dreams Cross is based on the idea of trying to
make film and video art more accessible and open, seeking to create new exhibit
opportunities and to reach out to people who do not generally go to see film
and video art. One of the main goals is to create a free, spontaneous,
surprising and more personal experience for the spectator. The project has a
